This month I read 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson. In this book, Ginny follows the instructions on 13 mysterious envelopes her dead Aunt Peg mailed to her before she passed from cancer. Peg is loving, fun, and spontaneous, so through the envelope instructions, sends Ginny on an adventure all over Europe. Ginny struggles with traveling alone, with no connections to her family or money, because those were Aunt Peg’s rules, and makes some friends along the way. 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson illustrates the theme, oftentimes being desperate can lead to learning to trust others.
I would rate this book 8/10. It was a good book, because of the fun adventure and I love this author, but there was no real plot, just mini plots throughout the book. I enjoyed the adventure and the mystery, along with the adrenaline of Ginny being on her own in foreign cities. I would recommend this to anyone who likes action, adventure and realistic fiction.
